My life has been so strange this past year. The auditory injury, life as I knew it crashing down, the suspicion of cancer, the major life overhaul with a crazy pure diet to heal said possible cancer, the biopsy more or less confirming cancer, and the quest to expand my resources and skills for self-healing from cancer.
I’ve been fighting the good fight. And yet, I find myself feeling exhausted sometimes.
Today I said to my mom that I should probably join a cancer support group, because then I can meet other people with similarly strange lives. She said I should find a vegan cancer support group, or more to the point, a cancer support group for people on radical healing diets. “I doubt that exists,” I replied.
And then I thought, to heck with it, I’ll just start my own cancer support group, for people who are on a quest to self-heal – people who believe in the mind/body/spirit connection, who believe in the power of the body to kick in its own self-healing mechanisms, people who are on a quest to find solutions above and beyond what are presented to them by conventional medicine. Maybe a group like this is already out there? If so, I want to join it!
If not, I’m officially starting this group – a virtual group, one that can hang out on Twitter and Facebook, that can gather on the phone through teleseminars, that can be there for each other when one of us is freaking out, that can guide each other as we seek resources.
