Your Mom is just what I needed today. Actually, over the last 3 months I have been a slug more than I care to admit. I have Fibromyalgia. I was doing so well over the summer, then I had a few really bad days which seemed to completely erase my coping mechanisms. In this months AARP magazine, I read an article "Drug- Free Remedies for Chronic Pain" and it mentioned your website. I will return frequently for motivation to help me take control again.

Hi Loolwa,

I love your articles. To the point and from the heart.

I believe that people confuse two things: altered state of consciousness, and the 'normal' one. Having quite some experience in both religion and Ericssonian hypnotherapy, I have concluded that the names should be otherwise: the 'altered' state is actually the Normal One! We come to this world as small babies spending nearly whole day in the so-called 'altered' state. Then, this topsy-turwy outside world gradually leads us to be in an artificial state of so-called 'normal' consciousness...

.. which most of us cannot tolerate in high doses. Therefore so many people listen music all the time, to be in a slightly 'altered' state. Or get drunk - for the same reason.

In my opinion, dance is the best way to get connection with our Normal state of consciousness, and be in control over it.

By the way, must note that "I simply did not have the energy to go to the gym and exercise" - I understand as your body's unwillingness for that activity. Have you tried other exercise forms, that increase your energy? Gym usually drains it. Have you tried Nia? I stumbled upon it on Healingdance forum on Yahoo, and I found it giving very spectacular results both in increasing my energy and healing pains and injuries.

Happy Dancing Your Life.
