I woke up yesterday with some kind of asthmatic cough, initiating deep in my chest. I did the nominal fight-it-off with my usual battalion of herbs, vitamins, and supplements; but this afternoon it started grabbing hold.

So I went to my local East-West pharmacy and a market, picking up the SWAT team of herbal remedies, fresh ginger and garlic, and some hard-core Western drugs to kill this cough. I downed all the conventional and complimentary meds in one fell swoop.

Eat this, bug!

Eat this, bug!

Then I made my fuck-the-bug brew: I blended fresh ginger and garlic with water, put it in a pot, added honey, and heated it up. It soothes the throat and feels like it’s killing all the nasties in there.

Next I turned up the heat to 75 degrees. Now I’m going to head off to sleep in a bit. Because you can’t beat rest for fighting a bug!
