Friends Who Go the Extra Mile Rule

I have a new friend. We had just hung out for the first time, when I had a medical emergency. I called him, and within an hour, he had done all my shopping for me and was hauling my ass to the urgent care clinic, where we waited for an hour for me to be seen. Then he waited another half hour while I was being seen. No complaints, just lots of care.

The next morning he called to see how I was doing and if I needed anything.

Then when he found out I am on this uber-pure, detox diet, he started experimenting with organic whole grains and fruits, trying to figure out how to bake a bread I could eat. He figured out that if he uses rice, it will expand and hold the grains together, in lieu of gluten.

So I’ve been eating bread again, and tonight – following last week’s failed attempt at corn muffins (which aren’t so bad when you chisel them open and add jam) — he made me organic, gluten-free, soy-free, sweetener-free, vegan, unprocessed banana blueberry muffins which were OMG so yum-delish!

I jumped up and down and danced around in the kitchen, and I ate four. “Um, you like them?” he asked.

Can I have your friend!!! He sounds marvelous!  It’s so good to hear that someone in your life goes that extra mile.
