Do you have leg pain, foot pain, pain standing or walking? Dance with the pain from the floor!
In this video, I demonstrate dancing from the floor, yesterday, during an intense bout of thigh/groin pain making it difficult for me to walk around. We can always dance, whether in a chair, on the floor, in bed, standing, or in our imagination. We can and must always dance safely without ever entering our pain zones or exacerbating our discomfort.
As such, we may need to reconceptualize our idea about dance: It does not need to be leaps, twirls, and fancy footwork. It does not need to look pretty or interesting. This is not a performance. It is a healing art form, done for ourselves, by ourselves.
In this video, you will see me exploring the edges of my comfort zone. As you may be able to see, I can move my leg safely in some ways, up to certain edges.
