Movies for Chronic Pain Setbacks
There’s nothing worse than being subjected to bad television and film, on top of facing a chronic pain setback and being laid up in bed. Especially for women who are not brain dead, and the men who love us, there’s slim pickin’s out there!
So I’ve compiled a list of movies & TV series – whose names I can remember, that is – which warrant the stamp of my own personal “feminist safe” label. Doesn’t mean all gender roles are ideal, but they are generally acceptable, if not downright inspirational. Most of these movies are my favorites, a few are less amazing but still enjoyable flicks thrown in for good measure.
Some of these are indie, others mainstream, some are domestic, others foreign. I’m not going to bother writing up summaries or reviews, but you can always check them out by doing a simple internet search. Enjoy, and please let me know if there are others you’d like to recommend – both for me and my blog readers!
And for you movie buffs out there: I’m trying to remember the name of this powerful movie, I think from Saudi Arabia, definitely somewhere in the Middle East, where there is very little dialogue. It follows this woman doing all of her daily activities, and at the end of the movie, she just ups and leaves — walking into the vast expanse of desert. Know which film I’m talking about?
