Natural Pain Relief Is a Communal Effort
In some ways, natural pain relief is a communal effort requiring that we speak up and that those around us respond. Take this example:
Today I had to go to court, to clear up a traffic ticket (oops, my bad). I was sitting in the front row, all by myself, when a guy with really long legs sat in the aisle seat. I knew that even if he moved his feet sideways, I’d end up twisting at an angle that might set off pain.
So I tapped him on the shoulder (gently) and explained to him that I look totally able bodied, but I have a disability, and certain angles are hard for me. I asked if he would mind standing up when I needed to pass, so that I didn’t hurt myself.
He could not have been sweeter about it! He said, “Yeah, I feel you, no problem.” And when my name was called and I made the tiniest motion of getting up, he bolted upright and stepped out of the way, so that I could pass easily.
What an angel. I pray that the Universe blesses him with health, safety, joy, love, and prosperity. Amen.
